about

A three-part space-themed narrative. [Click on each track's 'Info' link for full details.] Total running time 51 minutes 4 seconds...

Part 1: Our hero, Spacey the Spaceman, takes off for an adventure in outer space. However, things do not go according to plan and after getting sucked into a black hole, Spacey finds himself in a distant part of the universe. Fortunately, Spacey’s spaceship manages to communicate with an unknown identity and lands on a dark, strange planet that is inhabited by monstrous insect-like creatures that just so happen to yearn to taste our hero’s flesh. The insect-like aliens chase Spacey towards their hive, however Spacey manages to run away and get back to his spaceship and take-off from the dark, strange planet. After successfully folding space to get away from the alien’s solar system, Spacey spots what looks to be the Earth and comes in to land – however he crashes as he miscalculates the planet’s gravitational pull...

Part 2: Spacey finds himself all alone on a strange new world. His spaceship has been totalled in his crash landing so now Spacey must search for help. Coming across an ominous marshy bog, a nomadic tribe of lizard people wander into view. Spacey attempts to hide from the nomads, however they soon spot him and they start discussing amongst themselves what to do with him. Fortunately the nomads are vegetarian and have no interest in eating Spacey [unlike the insect creatures on the previous world], so there is much rejoicing on Spacey’s part as the nomads turn out to be actually quite friendly after all. But the nomads soon depart, unable to help Spacey find a way off the planet, and Spacey finds himself all alone once again. Determined to find a way off this strange planet, Spacey ventures forth once more but soon becomes overwhelmed by his predicament and starts to descend into madness. Just as Spacey is about to give up all hope, he spots a spaceship enter the planet’s atmosphere and proceed to land. Spacey runs with joy towards where the spaceship has landed somewhere over the horizon...

Part 3: Now rescued, Spacey takes off once again and attempts to get home back to Earth. Unfortunately Spacey is unsuccessful in his attempt at folding space and finds himself in a nebulous cluster. Upon getting out of the nebulous cluster Spacey realises that he is hopelessly lost in some distant galaxy, somewhere on the outskirts of the known universe. After drifting in space for some time, Spacey spots a familiar galaxy and starts to get his bearings as to where he is. With a bit more travelling through space, Spacey gets up the courage to fold space once more and make a quick return to Earth. Upon arrival back home to Earth, Spacey is understandably relieved and happy to have survived such an arduous adventure, however he is not prepared to be treated as a hero at a surprise party held in his honour, so Spacey runs off to the nearest spaceship and takes off once again into the sky... Our hero, after all, is happiest when on his own, exploring the great unknown...
